Put your hands in the air like you just don’t care!

Asalamu Alaikum my muslim siblings!

“When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me.” [2:186]

Have you ever wished for something that you never told anyone and then all of a sudden it just happens?  Do you ever supplicate to Allah and then get it answered?

If this has happened to you, IS IT NOT GREAT?!? Allahu akbar!!!! SubhanAllah, it is such an amazing feeling knowing that Allah truly listens. He truly helps you and gives you what you need, as long as you ask he will give InshAllah.

If you are sceptic about asking him, give it a go. I am being honest here, you will never find anyone else that is more willing to help you than Allah. There is nothing else I can actually advice you on doing than asking Allah for his guidance and help, whatever it may be.

As making du’a is one of the highest forms of ‘ibada(worship), there is no doubt that an increased eeman will be accompanied by this. You are humbling yourself to the one that deserves to be worshipped and asking for something that obviously is important to you. Even if it is to ask Allah to somehow help you get a yummy oats & raisin cookie from Sainsbury’s supermarket. Just do so, as you are in fact reaping the fruits of Jannah, by these easy earned rewards. Before you go to anyone else for help ask the one that can give you help. Before you go to the ones that are created and weak, go to the one that is the All Mighty. Before you go to the creations that has an expiry date, go to the one that is the ever-living and the one who sustains.

You want your life to change then put in the effort and change it. Ask He who deserves to be asked and then try your best to change it. As Allah so perfectly puts it:

“…Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves…”

I’m being totally serious, Do not  Never underestimate the power of du’a! Especially if it has something to do with the deen of Al Islam.

A precious Gem: The Complain of the Ignorant, Ibn Al-Qayyim , Al Fuwaid (taken from the English translation of the book) p. 134

 The ignorant people complain to people about Allaah, and this is the highest degree of ignorance, for if he had known his Lord, he would not have complained about Him, and if he had known the people he would not have complained to them.

 One of the predecessors saw a man complaining to another man about his poverty and dire necessity. He said to him, ‘O you! By Allaah, you have done nothing but complain about He who has mercy for you, to the one who has no mercy for you’.

The following words have been mentioned about the meaning of the previous statement of the predecessor.

“When you complain to a son of Adam,,,,verily you complain about the Most Merciful,,,,,, to the one who does not pityâ€‌.

On the contrary, the person who is profoundly knowledgeable about Allaah complains to Allaah alone. And the most knowledgeable person about Allaah is the one who complains about himself to Allaah, and never to people. He complains about the causes that make people do wrong to him, for he knows about the following ayah,

 ’And whatever of misfortune befalls you it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much’ (Ash-Shura, 42: 30)

 ’Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allaah but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself.’

(An-Nisa, 4: 79)

ط’(What is the matter with you?). When a single disaster smites you, although you smote (your enemies) with one twice as great, you say: ‘From where does this come to us?’ Say (to them), ‘It is from yourselves (because of your evil deeds). ‘And Allaah has power over all things.

(Al-Imran, 3: 165)

Therefore, there are three levels: the lowest one is to complain about Allaah to his creatures, the highest one is to complain about yourself to Him and the middle one is to complain about His creatures to Him.

 May Allaah make us from those who complain to Him alone about ourselves, He the Majestic and Most High, Ameen.

The stupidity test!

Look around you, look around you, look around you!

Do you think that you have some form of intelligence? Do you think that you are wise? Do you think that you can distinct things from good and bad?

If so, why on earth do you deny the wonders of Allah?

Allah constantly in the Quran tells us signs and miracles that only He has created but yet we cannot grasp these signs, we cannot look beyond our little world of desires, we cannot realise that there is more to life than just chasing unvaluable things.

He the most Wise, consistently gives us a sign and say that these are for those who reflect, these are for those who think, these are for those who are intelligent etc. Does that mean that we are stupid? Yes!
Life is not for play and entertainment. Unfortunately nowadays people have come to consider the next world as a figment of our imagination and have given up on the prospect of entering Jannah. Aouthobillah!!!

Even worse there are so many muslims out there that have taken the position to say the unbearable… “the people that say the shahadah will end up going to Jannah anyways even if they spend some time in Hellfire” What!?! Did I just hear that?!!!! What has happened to the ummah of prophet Muhammad (saw)? Why would you even want to enter such a horrible place?

The only conclusion that I can come to is that you really and truly have a faulty with your aqeedah! Your belief and eeman is weak and you need a quick fix, or else shaytan will prey on you like a wolf preys on a sheep.

Run, and find a class that will enable you to get in touch with your spiritual side. Go and realise that this world is nothing but a mirage and that the afterlife is where we belong.  Just think about it, just because this world is all that you know does not mean that there is not a light at the end of the tunnel. Actually to be frank there might be something dark at the end of the tunnel (hell).

Stop being in your stupid bubble chasing males, chasing beauty, chasing money chasing clothes. Man was created weak and feeble and thus you will always become of a slave to something. You chose what you want to become. An Abdiphone,  an abdgucci, abd50cent, or the best of them all Abdullah.

The choice is yours but make it quick before you take your last breath.

Anything good that I have said comes from Allah alone, anything bad is from me and the outcast that will on the day of judgement remove all of the blames that we will put on him. Shaytaan!

Are we useful with our time?

Asalamu alaikum!!!

A new day brings a new chance from Allah. This is a  new chance for us to come closer to him in any way possible (that is halal of course). Allah is waiting for us to turn to Him, and acknlowledge that He is our Lord and Creator.

A few days ago a my friends uncle died (may Allah have mercy on His soul Ameen). This got me thinking more and more about death. His days in this world are now over, but yours is not. Do we have to wait until we leave this world to realise the importance of worshipping Allah. I am first and foremost telling myself this  before I tell anyone else.

We do not realise that Allah is constantly watching and knowing what you are doing. We cannot hide anything for the all knower, but yet we feel like we can. Sis, who do you think you are?  Do you think you are one of those people from final destination that can ‘cheat’ death? Even they all die in the end. Once you have realised there is an end for you, the road will InshAllah be smoother and better. You will feel more refreshed and begin to lose interest in idle things. This however, is where the Shaytan will be lurking about making a booby trap for you.

Stay strong! Stay Strong! Continue to remind yourself that Shaytan is and always will be an OPEN ENEMY to us! He is a clear enemeny that will continue to entice us to do evil until the end. He will continue to try his best to put darkness into our hearts, until it is completely hard and black. This is when he does not need us anymore as he has once again deceived one of the children of Adam.

Prevent this from happening sister (and brothers, even though this is more or less aimed at sisters). There are a few tips that you can follow InshAllah:-

Yahyaa Ibn Mu’aadh said: “The medicine of the heart is five things: Reading the Qur’an and pondering the meaning, having an empty stomach, praying at night, beseeching Allah at the time of suhoor and keeping company with righteous people”. 

Follow these points and you will most definately feel and see a difference. Try to keep the Qur’an close to you and so whenever you have some spare time you can open it up and just read it InshAllah. Praying Qiyamul layl is like boosting up your low khushoo’ battery. Seriously, if you want to get closer to Allah, pray Qiyamul layl, this is when that extra bond is built because everyone else are sleeping. It is as if you are having a secret club with just you and your Creator.

Remember death more often, even if you need to have some small reminder around the house i.e. having a small note in the bedroom that says ‘one day you shall die’(you get my drift anyways).  For me there are a few surahs/ayahs that make me think this way. Some of these are:

• “Every soul shall taste death; in the end to Us you shall be brought back” surah ankabut:57.
• Surat al takathur(the whole chapter)
• Surat al waqiah
• Surat al nab’a

There are loads to choose from, just read and find whichever that makes you realise more. Just ask Allah for guidance, Wallahi Dua’ is the power of the muslims. Just supplicate to God! Never underestimate the power of Dua’!!!

Are they really our precious sprouts?

How old are you now? How many years have you studied at school? Now deduct those years with the years you have studied Allah’words? 

Is it more or is it less..?

Do you really need that masters degree sis? Do you really need to get that phd?  You’re most proably going to get married, get pregnant, have kids and not really use that degree.

My sisters in Islaam, your full time career and ever lasting reward is steering your children to the path of Allah? How on earth are you going to do this with a masters degree in something like international relations or biomedical science?

Do you really think your children are going to be grateful when they are 25 wishing that their parents taught them surat al fatiha at the age 5 rather than they learning it at the age of 25? Allahu akbar! Is this what the ummah has come to? Do we prefer our children knowing the Krebs Cycle than knowing that we shall all return to Allah and we will be judged according to our deeds?

Do you not know that children are like branches? They are bendy and can be directed into a certain direction. However, as they get older and thicker and bigger it is almost impossible to bend it and direct it to the way you want it.  Come on wake up, You can either be a mother that produces good children with good manners that has a love for Allah, his prophet SAW and a love for the deen of Al Islam, or you can become a mother that will have ungrateful children, that will not respect you because they do not fear Allah. Do you not know that they might stand before Allah blaming their parents for not teaching them sufficient knowledge of Islam.

Sisters, mothers play a MASSIVE role in building a generation, the better she is at raising her children the better the ummah is. What difference does it make if you stay at home taking care of your children? We are going to die anyways. This world is a prison for a believer and a paradise for a disbeliever. Can you not sacrifice your small silly desires to guide your lovely offspring to a good future InshAllah.

We have come to a era where women want to take the role of the men and be the primary breadwinner. Unless you actually have to sis, why do you put that burden onto yourself? Are you not aware that the husbands duty and obligation is to provide for the wife and children?  The way I see it is a woman has a full time job at home with the kids, why on earth would she want to exhaust herself with an extra full time job outside. No wonder many women get anti ageing cream at the age of 30,when they look like 60 because they are constantly working double shift non stop! A’outhobillah!

So I am asuming that whilst you and your husband work from 9-5pm, some stranger is looking after your kids. Can you guarantee that your child is safe? Can you guarantee that the things that the childminder is teaching your child is what you want your children to learn?

Think about it, we only get one chance in this world and would you want to have  offspring that constantly help you when you reach old age and then when you pass awaythey make dua for you?  or do you want children that constantly disrespect you, dump you at a nursing home when you reach old age and then do not care about your afterlife?

May Allah make us of the people of Jannah and grant us righteous children that is pleasing to us but most importantly pleasing to our creator Allah! Ameen

A niqaabi Journey

Asalamu alaikum!!!

Imagine walking down a road and it is as if you are walking down a catwalk. Imagine the stares and the traffic jams you cause.  Imagine the little children that look at you like you are an alien and then the parents just pretending that you are not there. Imagine….

Well this my friends and foes, is what I pretty much get alot of the time! To be honest with you, it feels great. Knowing that I am serving a purpose in life, protecting my hayat (modesty) and at the same time obeying the commands of Allah swt.  It is very easy to wear it unless your intentions are slightly loopey. Please do not think that I am any better than you, or any ‘holier’ than you, just because I am wearing a niqaab!

I am still very new to this niqaab but it is my new best friend! It is my friend when I need to be reserved, it is my friend when I feel uncomfortable but mostly of all it is my best friend because it personally brings me closer to Allah. As it would do with any sister InshAllah.

 I am not here to tell you that niqaab is fard, nor am I here to tell you that it is not. I am here to tell you about my new found and exciting journey that I hope many sisters will embark on too!

I have had many stares, I have had many comments. LoL I have even had two men( i presume father and son) sing the batman theme song(which I thought was HILARIOUS). But out there my sisters there are people that actually have a good heart. They are the people that still smile at you even though they cannot see you smiling back, they are the ones that say hello to you even though they do probably think you cannot speak english, they are the ones that stand up for you when other people are laughing at you(this has happened to me!) but most of all they are the ones that see through the veil and know that there is a human being with a personality in there somewhere…

 I am not oppressed nor am I supressed into wearing this beautiful garment. There are many that I know that will prefer me not wearing this, some even family members. I know this is probably the same situation with some sisters out there, just remember who are we out to please? Will your parents, brothers, sisters friends be there for you on the day of judgement when you will stand before Allah? Trust me, you are better off with the niqaab and the proper Hijaab.

You can even call it the ‘power fabric’, cause whenever that comes on your eeman goes up (thats if you do it for the sake of  Allah) InshAllah. Do not be fooled into thinking that you will be more unsafe when you wear it. Simple as you won’t. Anything that is meant to happen to you will happen regardless of what you do. All you could do is take precautionary measures such as wearing the proper hijaab as to safeguard yourself from men with evil hearts, staying more often at home rather than going out especially after maghrib (sunset) considering  crime is more prevalent after this time.

The way I see it, if you want to get closer to Allah, do it by protecting the things that are important. If you want to protect your fard salaah(obligatory 5 day prayers) then protect it with the 12 sunnah salah. If you want to protect your shaadah(testimony of faith), protect it with your salaah. If you want to protect your hijaab and try your outmost best not to take it off, espcially if there is some part in you nafs(desires) that want you to do this. Then protect it with the niqaab. Sisters protect it with the niqaab InshAllah.
